MB100 - Principles of Electricity & Electronics

 
  • curriculum features more than 25 hours of instruction in electricity and electronic terminology, circuit design and development, basic electronic components, and the theory and mathematics relating to electricity and electronics

  • includes both a comprehensive textbook format and a 10-activity modular format, both of which allow for self-paced, individualized instruction and training

  • content includes background information on each topic and an experiment or experiments that require trainees to construct and operate a simple circuit, followed by questions that reinforce the concepts and measure competence

  • hands-on applications allow the students or trainees to gain a better understanding of the changes in technology going on around them

  • entire system is enclosed in a portable and lockable impact-resistant polyethylene case that consists of an experiment station, a component kit, a visual aids chart, and courseware—all necessary hardware and components are included

MB200 - Principles of Pneumatics

 
  • curriculum is flexible and features 25 to 30 hours of instruction in pneumatic components, applications and principles; format allows self-teach/self-paced or group instruction

  • requires students to conduct an experiment in pneumatic technology using one or more of the 22 industrial-grade pneumatic components, including different types of valves, cylinders and measuring instruments

  • students use the components to emulate industrial applications

  • a complete power supply with compressor (limited to 60 PSI for classroom safety), together with a work surface and the components conveniently stored on a panel, provide everything needed to understand this fluid power technology

MB300 - Principles of Mechanisms

 
  • curriculum is flexible and features 25 to 30 hours of instruction in mechanical devices, applications and principles; format allows self-teach/self-paced or group instruction

  • combines science and technology

  • includes an experiment that requires trainees to construct and operate a simple machine or device for transmission of power, followed by a quiz to reinforce concepts and measure competency

  • the 30 mechanical components include a variety of gears, pulleys and assemblies

  • trainees use the components to design their own solutions to meet common problems that occur in industrial and everyday situations

MB400 - Principles of Hydraulics

MB400 - Principles of Hydraulics

 
  • curriculum is flexible and features 25 to 30 hours of instruction in hydraulic components, applications and principles; format allows self-teach/self-paced or group instruction

  • requires trainees to conduct an experiment in hydraulic technology using one or more of the 18 industrial-grade hydraulic components, including different types of valves, cylinders and measuring instruments

  • trainees use the components to emulate industrial applications

  • a complete power supply with a pump (designed to operate at approximately 25 PSI for safety) and fluid reservoir, together with a work surface and the components conveniently stored on a panel, provide everything needed to understand this fluid power technology

MB500 - Pneumatic Robotics Module

 
  • an introductory robotics educational system designed to provide students with an understanding of how pneumatic components work together in a pick-and-place robotic arm application

  • the student learns how to create, edit, run and monitor robot programs using a programmable logic controller (PLC) using ladder logic computer programming software

  • with the optional toggle switch pendant, the MB500 can be operated stand-alone by allowing the student to control the robot motions via manually toggling the pendant switches on and off

  • curriculum covers the history and types of robots; individual axes of motion are computer programmed one axis at a time; a motion map is created followed by an integration of all three axes and the gripper using a PLC (customer supplied) for automated motion control

  • curriculum is in a 10-activity modular format with pre and post assessment testing and assumes some knowledge of PLCs

  • curriculum allows for self-paced, individualized instruction and training

MB500 - Pneumatic Robotics Module

MB600 - Principles of Industrial Sensors

 
  • features over 25 hours of instruction in limit switches and fiber optics, infrared and proximity sensors; each section includes an introduction to components, principles of their use and applications

  • the system includes industrial quality sensors, an electronic power supply with input/output terminal strips, a mounting surface and all the accessories required to perform a variety of experiments

  • the versatile training system can also be used with motors, lighting systems, conveyors and other 115 volt-AC devices; it has been designed to interface with several other TII technology training systems

  • included SenSelect software from Cutler-Hammer helps trainees determine which sensor group would be most effective for various industrial applications; the program is interactive, asking trainees to evaluate characteristics and conditions such as target size and material, light levels, contamination and object positioning

  • the combination of the MB600 with the MB200 Pneumatics trainer or MB400 Hydraulics trainer, the MB650 Programmable Controller trainer, the MB501 robot and the MB505 programmable valve pack form a comprehensive application package

MB600 - Principles of Industrial Sensors

MB640A - Introductory PLC

 
  • uses a Micro Controller for programmable control; the Micro Controller is an electronic control relay with PLC-like features: built-in logic, timer, counter, and realtime clock functionality

  • enables learners to develop competence in operating and programming a simplified industrial programmable controller

  • curriculum begins with basic wiring concepts and moves quickly through circuits, I/O, ladder logic and programming; additional units focus on the special features of the Micro Controller

  • each unit includes programming and wiring experiments, which stimulate proficiency in controller operation and industrial applications

  • the experiment station design permits easy access to the input/output terminals with simple banana-jack connectors which allows rapid set-up and testing of wiring changes, using the built-in input/output devices or user-identified external devices

  • the Pico Controller is programmed using ladder diagrams, and each programming element is entered directly using the keypad/display or the Windows-based programming software

  • the MB640A’s rugged design and portability means it will stand up to the most demanding training schedule; the trainer is enclosed in an impact-resistant case and the training panel is constructed of stainless steel

  • options to expand the MB640A training system capabilities include industrial sensors for input/interface (model MB600 and EM600 series), additional control modules (models 650AADCS, 650A-MPC, EP-250) and robots for more advanced applications
