Fluid Power Training Institute logo

Fluid Power Training Institute (FTPI) hydraulic training systems are in many technical colleges in the USA, Canada, Australia, Africa, Asia, South America, and Saudi Arabia. They are also the number one choice for Corporate Technical Training Centers.

FTPI offers multiple trainers in three main areas:

To suit your training objectives and budgets, FPTI™ offers three variations of their flagship hydraulic training systems; click the link for each to see a flyer about it:

  • MF102-H - a brilliant “foundation building” training system that is masterfully crafted to help students connect the dots. Pascal’s Law, inertia, power, resistance, pressure differential, series, parallel – theory, it’s all so confusing if the students can’t apply it, yet it’s the very foundation upon which their knowledge of hydraulics is built.

  • MF102-H-TS - the letters “TS” denote troubleshooting; add troubleshooting to the model MF102-H and you have the most advanced hydraulic training system in the world that can be used to teach a 40-hour plus course in basic hydraulics, and another 40-hour plus course in troubleshooting

  • MF102-H-TSE - has the same features and capabilities as the model MF102-H-TS but the letter “E” denotes “electronic troubleshooting.” This is FPTI™’s flagship, and best-selling, training system loaded with features and benefits you will NEVER find on any other training simulator.

Other hydraulic trainers include:

  • MF200-CAV - Cavitation has the potential to cause the degradation failure of the entire hydraulic system. It is also the common cause of catastrophic pump failure.  Training includes:

    • How the inlet side of a hydraulic pump works

    • Why it is critical to establish a “trend” for pump inlet restriction

    • How and why cavitation occurs

    • Safe and effective diagnostic procedures for determining the root-cause of cavitation

  • MF300-VCLSan extremely versatile 2-in-1 training system designed for teaching and learning hydraulic steering and hydrostatic transmissions.  The front-end has a fully-functional hydraulic steering system that is identical to those found on articulated machines such as front-end loaders. The rear-end features a fully-functional hydrostatic (hydraulic) transmission identical to those in skid-steer type loaders and many other types of industrial and mobile machinery.

  • MF400-HCTS - designed to help instructors teach and students learn how to safely and correctly perform the following skills:

    • Overhaul a hydraulic cylinder.

    • Identify and use the tools needed to overhaul a hydraulic cylinder.

    • Inspect the components in a hydraulic cylinder to determine the root cause of a failure.

    • Replace piston and gland seals.

    • Test a hydraulic cylinder.

    • Air bleed a hydraulic cylinder.

  • MF500-HT-TSE - Skid-steer type loaders are today’s hydrostatic transmission training systems – you will find one in the lab of almost every technical college in the country.  However, these types of vehicles offer a host of unique safety hazards. Some of the more serious hazards include: unexpected vehicle motion, rotating wheels and shafts; noxious exhaust emissions; hot engine components; improperly supported vehicle, disconnecting of critical manufacturer installed safety devices, confined space, etc.  The MF500-HT-TSE eliminates ALL of the hazards associated with using a skid-steer type loader as a hydrostatic transmission training system because it is designed for educators not for a construction site.

  • MF600-1HP - The 1-HumanPower™, zero-emissions hydraulic training system is designed to help students clearly understand fundamental hydraulics as it relates to horsepower, flow and pressure.

Pneumatic

The model MF700PN ensures that all students get an equal opportunity to learn and understand fluid power regardless of their college’s financial situation.

The design of the MF700PN is brilliant because it has unlimited growth potential. Start out with a frame and enough components to teach an excellent course in fundamental pneumatics and grow it, as your budget and needs change, to the most advanced pneumatic training system on the planet.
