The US Department of Education's Office of Vocational and Adult Education (OVAE) has identified 16 Career Clusters representing career opportunities for the 21st century.  Career Clusters provide a way for schools to organize instruction and student experiences around the 16 broad categories that encompass virtually all occupations from entry through professional levels.

With over 50 titles in its library, Applied Technologies is a leader in the development of self-guided curriculum that covers many Pathways in those Career Clusters.  Their curriculum (most of which have both middle and high school levels) gives students the opportunity to experience relevant hands-on applications in a variety of careers.  Academic standards are also reinforced as students read for comprehension, follow written directions, conduct daily writing assignments, and apply math and science principles in real-world situations.
